- Facility Hire

The educational facilities at Sir Thomas Rich's School are wonderfully enhanced by the STRS Sports Centre. Officially opened in February 1999 by local sporting legend Bill Hook (a Rich's pupil from 1931 to 1939 and England Rugby International during the fifties), this superbly equipped and well managed sports centre not only broadens the school's physical education resources, but also provides a valuable and much needed sports facility for the local community.

Numerous activites are catered for: five-a-side soccer, cricket nets, skater hockey, martial arts, aerobics, yoga, volleyball, netball, hockey, badminton, basketball, gymnastics and blading.. to name but a few. The centre also stages a number of coaching courses, holiday activity courses and various competitions. Sports and pool parties are also extremely popular.

There is a fitness and conditioning suite which is temperature controlled and which possesses state-of-the-art resistance and cardio-vascular equipment.

Combined with the simming pool, the Sports Centre complex continues to prove that 'Sport in the Community' is not just a fancy slogan, but a reality.
