The Table Tennis Club is in the old School Gym every Thursday lunchtime (1.05 to 2.10 p.m.) and every Thursday after school (3.30 to 4.30 p.m.). It is open to anyone, of any age, no membership is necessary, any pupil can come along occasionally or regularly, to one or other or both of the weekly sessions. We charge 20p per session, to cover the costs of replacement equipment, such as balls and bats. Pupils don’t need to bring anything other than their 20p, we provide everything so pupils can join in and play throughout the hour. We have nine tables so there is normally plenty of room for everyone to have a go. The Club is supervised by Mr. Barns during the lunchtime session and by Mr. Kellie after school.

The School has three teams which play in the Gloucester Table Tennis Association league. This is the local league for table tennis clubs, it is not a schools league (there isn’t one), so most of the players in other teams are adults. It is therefore necessary for anyone who wishes to play for a school team to be of a very good standard and prepared to commit to playing matches every week, in the evenings, throughout the Autumn and Spring terms i.e. from September to April. A Trials Evening is held on the first Friday evening of the new school year, from 7.00 to 9.00 p.m. in the Gym: players who wish to be considered are welcome to come along although we limit this invitation to pupils in Year 9 and above, our experience is that younger boys are unlikely to be strong enough players.
