Yitak in Year 7 had the honour of being selected to play a curtain raiser game and form part of the guard of honour at last Saturday’s Six Nations England-Scotland match at Twickenham. Yitak was selected by his rugby club, Royal Wootton Bassett, and along with 11 team-mates of mixed age and gender took part in a game of touch rugby against Aylesbury on the Twickenham pitch before kick-off. The young players then formed the guard of honour during the national anthems.

Tim Holmes, the RFU’s Club and Volunteer Support Manager, thanked the two clubs for taking part and said: “The players were fantastic and a real credit to your clubs…my favourite photo from the day isn’t rugby related but sums up the spirit of both teams…the young lad from RWB offering his chocolates around the changing room”.

Well done Yitak, an experience to remember and you represented your school and your club fantastically.
