Former STRS pupil and violinist Isaac Williams, class of 2022, is the Gloucestershire Young Musician of the Year 2023, scooping the £500 winner’s prize, the £200 audience prize and the Hewitt-Jones Trophy. Isaac was chosen by the audience and the judges over five other finalists at Pittville Pump Room in Cheltenham at the weekend, and as part of his prize he also wins a concerto with Gloucestershire Symphony Orchestra, a concerto with Gloucestershire Youth Orchestra, and a recital at Cheltenham Music Festival.

Isaac is pictured here being presented his Trophy by Caroline Lumsden, founder of the Gloucestershire Academy of Music, receiving his £500 cheque from Patrick Daly, chairman of the Brimpsfield Music Society, and being congratulated by the Headmaster, Mr Morgan.

We’re incredibly proud of Isaac, who was a big part of the musical life of the School during his time here and is now in his first year studying violin at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
