Alexander in Year 10 was one of three finalists from students living or attending school in Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire to win a composition workshop and performance of his piece by the internationally renowned Carducci String Quartet at the Carducci Festival in May.

Head of Music Mrs Jones said: "This is amazing achievement, not only is Alexander a talented musician he really is an excellent composer, as well as being a dedicated member of several School music ensembles. We are all incredibly proud of him!"
