Fellow Old Richians,
We are very keen to get in contact with you to keep you updated on the School’s progress and major events.
You’ll be delighted to hear that Rich’s goes from strength to strength both in and out of the classroom. We had our best ever A level and GCSE results last summer which put us 57th in the Times’ league table of the top 100 secondary schools in the country, above other well- known grammar schools such as Bishop Wordsworth’s in Salisbury, Aylesbury GS, Torquay Boys’ GS and Lancaster Royal GS to name just a few!
We also continue to provide a whole range of extra-curricular activities in sport, music and drama and, in addition, there are a range of clubs and societies. On the sporting front, following their pre-season 5-match tour to Australia, the 1st XV have had an excellent season so far under the guidance of Director of Sport, Rhys Williams. They are still in the main competition of the Daily Mail U18 Cup, which has now reached round 4, when they will face local opposition here at School in the form of St Peter’s HS. Other sports are also thriving such as Girls’ Netball, Cricket, Tennis and Swimming.
In addition to the many sporting activities, the performing arts continue to flourish here, and later on this term we will be staging our annual major production,’ Return to the Forbidden Planet’, and the Choir will be performing at the traditional Carol Services at St John’s and St Catherine’s.
Keep in touch and if you are in the area please pop in to see us – you will always be most welcome.
A member of staff or a pupil will always be on hand to give you a tour of the School and we may even be able to organise a tea or coffee for you too – no expense spared here at Rich’s as you well know!
Would you please help us to keep in touch by completing the on-line form?
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you again sometime.
Garde Ta Foy,
Chris Carter
