Headmaster's Welcome to Sir Thomas Rich's School
Welcome to Sir Thomas Rich’s website, I hope it manages to give you a sense of the unique culture and ethos of our School.
Sir Thomas Rich’s combines a sense of tradition and a pride in our history, with exciting developments which ensure that we offer the very best educational opportunities to all our students. We take 108 boys into Year 7 who join us from Gloucester, the county and beyond. We have a mixed Sixth Form into which we have welcomed a current total of 70 girls. Educational achievement is high, not because we are an examination factory, but because children enjoy their time at Sir Thomas Rich’s. We have a rich and diverse extra-curricular programme which supports the development of each child’s talents, self-confidence and social skills.
In every Ofsted inspection we have been judged Outstanding. We were awarded Specialist College status in three areas (Languages, Science, Leading Edge Mentor School) and on 1st October 2010 we became one of the first of the new Academies.
