About Sir Thomas Rich's School
The School
We are a successful and flourishing grammar school situated in Longlevens, Gloucester. Our Founder, Sir Thomas Rich, established the school in 1666 as a Bluecoat Hospital school. Although we are now a progressive and modern centre of learning excellence, we have not forgotten our heritage and we are proud of our traditions, the best of which underpin and influence the overall ethos of the school.

The school supports around 820 students with a teaching staff of 60. We have a 4 form entry of boys at Year 7 and a mixed Sixth Form. We offer a wide range of subjects at GCSE, AS & A Level and consistently achieve very high standards in our examination results.

We have one hundred and six boys in Year 7, who join us from over sixty different primary schools. The new Lower Sixth have one hundred and twenty six students of whom thirty six join us from other secondary schools. 26 of the Lower Sixth are girls, giving us a total of 65 girls in our Sixth Form of two hundred and forty six students. Total pupil numbers are seven hundred and ninety five (compared with eight hundred and twenty two in September 2007)

Sir Thomas Rich's has a deservedly high reputation and is held in high regard within and beyond the City of Gloucester.
        Headmaster Mr I L Kellie - I.L. Kellie, Headmaster.
